A young woman in 17th century Amsterdam seeks the help of a mysterious miniaturist to embellish a doll house, but each doll she receives mysteriously predicts the fate of her family members. Nella travels to Amsterdam after her marriage to a wealthy merchant, and receives an elaborate doll house as a wedding present from her husband as she attempts to fit into her new family
